Band Biography :
‘Asurah’ are a young ambitious band from the South of England made up of five
members. The band formed in 2002, with the addition of another guitarist in
2004. ‘Asurah’ combine powerful riffs and catchy melodies to bring the genre of
Alternative Rock more mainstream. With influences from the likes of Rage Against
the Machine and Incubus. As the band has matured other external factors and
musical genres have played a part in the direction of the music; for instance
the relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. In
early 2004 the band participated in a battle of the bands called ‘Emergenza’.
Emergenza was a nation wide competition for up and coming bands, with the
opportunity for two bands to be showcased to Columbia records Germany. ‘Asurah’
made it through to the regional finals at Portsmouth’s Wedgwood Rooms, which
ranked them within the top 25 out of 300+ bands nationally. They bring an
energetic stage performance with the aid of a unique looking front man who has
the ability to really capture the crowds imagination. ‘Asurah’ aim to get to a
stage where their music and live performances can reach a wide varied audience.
