Band Biography

Chunk Farm was originally formed by Roger Whitney, the name was an inspiration from Mike Stone, his best friend from the Hallmark corp. and bass player for the band “KOIL”. Mike had loaned Roger basically a whole recording studio when he was dating his sons mother, Alicia Romos who Roger writes several songs about and gave Roger an out for his musical talents. Roger also accredits his grandmother Cicele Schier who used to play folk songs on her Autoharp and folk guitar when he was five to twelve years old. Roger then became friends with Chip and Donny Z-nuff Of ” ENUFF Z NUFF ” who he went to high school with in the early eighties and who wrote “Master Of Pain” about him from The Humans with Animals Intelligence album. Roger recorded songs with Big Hello” and ENUFF ZNUFF, Billy Corrigan, upside Down Room, the Vandals, Tome, The Crucifucks, and several Christian bands he created.  Roger was wounded while in the army and as a patrol officer and so music had a large part in his life during these recoveries. As a crippled child, from age three to ten, Roger has had a host of diversities to over come. His parents and uncle “Finkie” and aunt Millie were prodomadent figures in the cultivation of his musical and poetic talents. Roger is also the author of  “THE BOOK” , THE SOUND OF POETRY, TIDES AND WINDS, DRAGONS AT THE GATE and BOOK TWO, POETRY AND STUFF” Please look them at books.com , Roger also states that without god, Fred, Judie, Frank Schier and sister Lynn, there would be no Roger to write aboout today, Also, Roger would like to say, congratts to his bro Ed whitney on his accomplishments as a annimator and that Roger is proud of him and loves his lil bro.
