Band Biography
dankelso.com formed in mid 2002 in Adelaide, Australia. Songwriter and Keyboardist Dan Kelso met sound engineer Darren Hincks at a recording studio to lay down a few musical ideas. Hincks not only provided his technical soundscaping capabilities, but also his exceptional guitar work. Over the coming weeks it was clear that they had quite a unique and full sound and went about putting together a quality debut EP and a energetic live show.
Two core members with musical influences from opposing ends of the spectrum. Kelso’s lying in the big 80’s synthesized soundscapes from the likes of Simple Minds, Level 42 and Depeche Mode. Hincks from the rockier side. The bands recordings to date show evidence of a mutual love of Pink Floyd’s less abbrasive sounds.
Local street press gave their debut release, ‘The Compassion Circuit EP’, favourable reviews and their live show captivated crowds in Adelaides pub and club scene.
The band has been on pause for the last few years, accumulating life experiences. Now based in Sydney with a wealth of new material under their belt, dankelso.com are currently recording their next release and preparing for an Australian tour. 2007 is shaping up to be a big year for the band that should see them achieve popularity in all corners of the globe.
