While performing in Spain, Swedish singer/songwriter David Parker meets American drummer Ryan Scott (San Fransisco, CA). They happen to share their passion for the old big band jazz music and the male vocalists of that golden era. Ryan is a huge Gene Krupa fan and David already knows by heart practically all the classic great Sinatra, Bennett and Dean Martin tunes, as well as the all time favourite jazz standards. They decide to start the project ‘David Parker & The Swingmen’. Ryan and David soon have the scores worked out and they handpick some talented musicians for the line-up. It doesn’t take long before they become a very popular act at the clubs, and within just a few months they are already playing theaters. David Parker has an unmistakable timbre and his own energic and youthful style of singing. Although this band truly respects the classic arrangements by Count Basie, Nelson Riddle or Billy May, they are certainly going for something new, hot and exciting.
