The “Brothers Of Craig” began life back in the mid 80s when Jon Gerrard got together with Craig Nugent (guitar),Jons brother Paul Martin (keyboards),Sally Stuart (keyboards) and Raymond Gosland on bass. Soon the line up was complete when Lawrie Kennedy (drums) joined the band. The band played the Scottish circuit over the years and recorded a demo at the “Slaughterhouse Studios ” Driffield. The three songs “Still Alive , Just One Of Those Days and The Other Side Of The Story” were engineered and produced by “Colin Richardson” who worked with such bands as “Joy Division,Sisters Of Mercy and The Mission and who now produces albums for bands such as ” Napalm Death , Slipknot , Bullet For My Valentine ,Trivium and Cradle Of Filth , to name but a few. Just One Of Those Days was to become the B-side Of the Brothers first single “Tossing And Turning” Released on the bands “Brotherhood label. The single reached the Indie charts , and made the band enough money to finance the recording and release of the 12″ single “The Colour Of Heaven” The band had now had a change of personel,Raymond and Craig had to leave the band due to work commitments and were replaced briefly by Stephen Latta on bass and Ross Thom on guitar, but neither really fitted in . Eventually Alan Kane “bass” and Peter Mcfarlane “guitar” joined , and the band was complete. The band again travelled to Yorkshire to record at “The Slaughterhouse Studios” and recorded “The Colour Of Heaven” which was engineered and produced by “Steve Harris”who has since Produced and mixed for the likes of , U2 ,Kula Shaker , The Automatic and The Kaiser Chiefs. The band also recorded “This Song Is Over” and “I Wonder Why” both again engineered and produced by “Colin Richardson” The single was released with the inclusion of the song “Bridge Of Sighs” which was recorded at “Sunset Studios” Paisley. The song was engineered and produced by Davie Carlton. Unfortunately very few singles reached the shops , as the distribution company went into liquidation and most of the singles were lost due to red tape . Its only now that these singles are being sold on various internet shops. The band broke up in the early 90s , and Jon , Lawrie and Alan went on to play in other bands. The band had made many recordings through the years , and have decided to release their catalogue of songs on a double CD. This came about after some excellent feedback to the songs on the bands newly made myspace site. Record companies from both America and Europe have been showing keen interest. The band are now back together recording and playing live again. Jon , Lawrie , Alan , Peter and Paul have been joined by J.V. Mcpherson on Guitar. The story continues.

Band Biography :
Riots of Eighty, a four-piece band from Orem, Utah, have developed their own vision amidst an ocean of music and inspiration. Formed in early 2007 by the two guitarists (Micah & Peter) and Joseph Arrington (former drummer for “Day Two”) Riots of Eighty’s mutual vision and a shared sense of the world around them has
quickly taken their music to heights rarely seen from a small band.

While staying true to their Christian roots, they have managed to develop a highly emotional, darkly passionate, and sometimes even triumphant blend of beautiful vocals, melodic guitar work, and a commanding sense of “urgency” in their music and lyrics. This has taught Riots of Eighty to mature into a future of possibilities. Most songs are influenced by hard-hitting books such as Shelley, Stoker, Sylvia Plath, and other songs are emotional journeys about mankind that are painstakingly written so the listener can feel it within them.

Riots of Eighty has always been hard-working, to say the least. Having a passion for all aspects of the music scene these days (the music, the business, AND the manual labor), the band simply wont take “no” for an answer. They are consistently building a notable reputation with contacts all over the country and they have successfully booked two West coast tours with another larger tour planned in May 2008. While being home from tour, Riots of Eighty practices relentlessly and work full time jobs to cover all the expenses in the band. They prefer to work for what they have and they believe that music is not created correctly without of blood and sweat involved. The band sees it as a blessing to start with very little and work their way up by lending a helping hand to anyone they come across.

Riots of Eighty is creating a quickly growing following with 400+ plays a day on www.myspace.com/riotsofeighty. They are releasing their first EP in early April and have recently created a new line of merchandise and promotional items in conjunction with the EP. This will kick off exciting summer plans ranging from Warped Tour to a full U.S. tour with a goal of selling more than 10,000 EPs. Riots of Eighty will record their first full-length concept album in the Fall of 2008 with Matt Winegar (Primus, Mutton Hollow, Royalbliss, Josh Freese) and continue to influence the world with what they have to offer.

Riots of Eighty live performance will knock your socks off and they just so happen to be some of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
