Band Biography

“March of the Whales”, the inaugural full-length CD from Finger of Knowledge, is set to be unleashed July 2008. In their own unique style of musical story-telling, FoK relates many of their concerns toward major world problems. The title track and album name refer to a fictitious, magical scenario in which Earth’s whale population abandon’s this polution-laden planet, after humans decimate it entirely. “Wars of our World”, track 4, is an anthem for bringing all military soldiers home safely and quickly, and finding alternative solutions to our problems than waging wars.

With influences ranging from Soundgarden to Coldplay, FoK endevours to create music that can make your spine shiver one moment with anticipation, then trigger a passionate emotional release the next. Thought provoking lyrical landscapes provide the listener with something psychological to relate to. Opinions are voiced, ideas put forth in harmony - a full sonic montage.

FoK believes it is possible to make a difference through the voice of music, and as long as there are fans out there willing to listen, they will continue sharing their unique brand of “knowledge”.

“Finger of Knowledge has a nice mix of emotion in their vocals with a rock sound. The band is tight with catchy hooks, and musically are all very talented. The most important aspect to keep in mind when writing a song is 1) Will listeners be able to relate to the song, and 2) Does it have memorable hooks that people can hum too. These hooks can be both vocally, or musically. Finger Of Knowledge uses both these techniques with unique vocals backed by a solid beat and rockin guitar.”
