Band Biography :
What started in mid-2005 in the bedroom of Ryan Aylsworth’s Los Angeles, CA home
as a joking attempt at stabbing metalcore in the back has developed into a full
on smack in the face of the genre. When the members of I Got Shot in The Face
got tired of the contrived and narcisistic trash-talk sessions they’d over hear
and partake in about metal, hardcore, metalcore, death…stuff and everything
alike, they decided to oppose the confrontational endeavors and start their own
rediculous, um, heavy band. Influenced heavily by some of the most popular bands
in the genre like The Chariot, Converge, Poison The Well and The Deftones, the
band takes a very knowing approach to the music they write, without delusions of
grandeur and hopes of “changing the way you listen to metalcore”. After being
approached by friend and Count It Records Owner, Adam Paul, it was a quick
decision to put out their album. “We’re tired of everything and everyone being
so godamn critical about music and making it into something it isnt. We
definetly beleive in how important music can be, but we’re also heavily
entertained by the notion of having fun with music and suprising yourself by
letting go of unneeded and overly critical preconceptions!” stated Ventimiglia.
The group’s full length album, “How Am I Not Myself” is due out on Valentines
Day 06′ courtesy of Count It Records. “The album is basically about the
depression within depression. About how aimless nothing can feel, if ya feel
me?” said Ventimiglia, “I think it backs our message pretty well of just letting
yourself enjoy a fuckin cd, if people like it, thats great, but if they pass it
off as just another thing in the genre, well then we’ve accomplished what we’ve
set out for!”
