Band Biography :
The Jezebel Sextet are a UK funk band, based in London. Their sound is rooted in
classic 1970s street funk, recalling the music of artists like The JBs, The
Fatback Band, Mandrill and Gil Scott-Heron. But the real heart of the Jezebel
Sextet’s music comes from a stack of brilliant jazz/funk originals, composed and
fine-tuned over the past eight years of gigging in and around London. The
Jezebel Sextet plays a wide range of of material from deep blues through and
sassy soul-jazz, through to heavy improvised funk.
