Band Biography :
Judd Hoos is a four-piece rock powerhouse. The band was created with a
commitment to great music and superior live shows. Judd Hoos hails from the
heartland with its members living in three different states when not on tour.
The band blends a variety of cover material with a number of radio friendly
originals. The covers range from current hits by Foo Fighters, Jet, Maroon 5 and
Audioslave, to classics from Aerosmith, Ozzy Osborne, U2, and Nirvana. The group
is blessed with a core of talented young musicians, who combine their individual
abilities into one incredible machine that is Judd Hoos. Bob Zwarte’s distinct
vocals soar over the music with an intensity that is reinforced by his
charismatic inviting stage presence. Bob is a founding member and former drummer
for the national touring act Zwarte’. Twelve years of extensive nationwide
touring and album sales in excess of 150, 000 copies put Bob in an elite
category. Bob brings his experience as a great performer and stellar vocalist to
the front of the stage for everyone to enjoy. Bob is a South Dakota native who
now resides in Sioux Falls. Shane Funk is a powerful force behind the drums. He
provides both lead and background vocals and his rock solid playing sets up the
heavy groove that permeates all of Judd Hoos’s music. Shane’s drum solos are a
crowd favorite as he teams up with Drew each night in a dazzling display of
skill and coordination. Shane has also toured nationally and has worked
extensively on the management side of the entertainment business. Shane is a
Nebraska native who currently lives in Spearfish South Dakota. Drew Lerdal is an
incredibly talented accomplished multi-instrumentalist. He is primarily the
bands guitar player, while providing keyboards, background vocals, lead vocals,
drums and percussion. (sometimes all on one song) Drew’s influence on Judd Hoos
is undeniable. He truly defines the role of consummate musician in the group.
Drew is a Rapid City South Dakota native. Chris Hornick brings a wealth of
experience to the band. Chris spent nearly two years on the road as the bassist
for the national touring group Zwarte’. In that short time span Chris paid his
dues by playing more than two hundred shows across the United States, as well as
recording a nationally released CD with the group. Chris is an outstanding bass
player and a great asset to the band. His enthusiasm is contagious on stage and
his dedication to the music apparent. Chris is a Colorado native currently
residing in Denver. Last but certainly not least are the guys behind the scenes
in Judd Hoos. Dave Dwelle mans the front of house sound. Dave has worked in the
industry for more than a decade and is considered one of the best sound
engineers in the region. Slim can be seen and heard nightly pumping Judd Hoos
through EV stacks and 20,000 watts of Crown power. Justin Ehlers is the visual
genius behind the awesome lightshow the audiences enjoy night after night at a
Judd Hoos concert. Justin’s creative mastery of intelligent lighting is the key
ingredient that puts a Judd Hoos show in a category all by itself. Justin has
recently toured across the United States as the production manager for ‘Brule’.
Judd Hoos will be taking the stage across the Midwest this year with shows in
North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming,
