Band Biography :
“Rock is the new rock”, have you heard? Rock is back! Well while it’s being
reinvented by the industry and music scene alike as the “new movement”,
Moonjuice have known none other than the meaning of the word since their
inception in the late 1990’s. Starting as an early collaboration between
vocalist, Doug Lord and guitarist Nigel Kerr, Moonjuice was influenced by some
of the fathers of rock such as Chuck Berry ,The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and
The Who, to name a few. The band encapsulates the sounds of the late 60’s and
70’s with a genuine and fresh energy, with meaty riffs, classic hooks and good
time rock and roll. Besides their ability to “rock out” as a five piece, they
have not forgotten the finer, more delicate side of their genre, which is their
tasty acoustic repertoire. Incorporating the 12 string and slide guitar,
harmonic melodies and a percussion section that sweetly compliments each tune
and lifts them to the highest levels of audible pleasure. Armed with a EP and a
fistful of 70’s sounding highway rock tunes, they conjure memories of Led
Zeppelin, and even today, have been compared with The Kings of Leon and the
Sights. Moonjuice write shimmering hook-laden rock with sweet west coast
harmonies and rock out with a solid-as-hell Detroit style rhythm section.
Moonjuice’s first EP, “Sero Sed Serio”, was released through MGM in May 2003
