Band Biography :
Restless beats, screaming vocals, ear scratching guitars, rumbling bass and
“straight out of hell” samples. That is what MYTHOSIS is all about . Have you
ever thought about mixing metal with nu metal, hardcore, emo, death metal, black
metal, grind, electronica, noise and trip hop? Well, five guys from Montreal
(Quebec, Canada), decided that is was finally time to show people what this
unique blend sounded like. Chris Donaldson and Steve Burns, former members of a
successful Montreal metal hardcore band called Minds,with chris also being the
guitarist for CRYPTOPSY, realised it was time to call it quits. They started all
over again, but this time with something they were really craving for. After
came a 18 year old emo hardcore singer craving to go on tour and scream his
lungs out. The line up was almost complete, but yet something was still missing.
They hooked up with Jyps, an electronic and sample freak. “Adding samples to the
whole thing just cranked up our music a step further” Steve says. Now Mythosis
was complete, for good. Since then, the band has been constantly practising to
reach the ultimate level. ” MYTHOSIS means a myth in constant evolution, like
our music .” Chris admits, about the band’s name. And the band didn’t neglect
the live part! Always stomping, jumping and trashing on each other, their live
energy is at its best. “We learned a lot from being on the road.” Since November
2003, the guys of MYTHOSIS have been quite busy. They entered in studio last
February to record a demo which featured three songs. 1000 copies were sold
independently within a month. Still writing some new material, they are going to
hit the studio again this fall for another demo. Featuring two brand new songs,
it will only be available via their web site www.mythosis.com. The shooting for
the “Darkest corners” video is set for late January. Finally, a tour across
Canada and the West coast of the United States is currently being organised for
