Band Biography :
You are not dreaming…. You are listening to Oneiris. It is the Dawn of the New
Fusion. It is the psychedelia of the New Millenium. Oneiris seduces the body and
arouses the mind, layering an array of sonic images over unrelenting rhythms
that propel the powerful vocals of Alicia Racine. The six-piece unit churns out
unique journeys in the same realms as Zero 7, The New Deal, and Flaming Lips.
Electronic music is a form of expression that strives to create new sounds and
experiences, rather than seeking something already accomplished. Oneiris is not
only progressive dance music, but fodder for the imagination. They continuously
forge journeys both primal and intellectual, mechanized and human. They bridge
genres, from 1970’s jazz to modern trance and house. They are not attached to
their instruments and machines, they are liberated by them. Oneiris originated
with the synthesizers and keyboards of Gary Rawding and jude kingston. While
they experimented with technology they eventually chose to branch out into
something more “human.” Eventually they took on the precision drumming of Adam
Colucci and the pulsing bass of Mike Jupin. The sparse esoteric work of
guitarist Gregg Savage became part of the fold while Racine brought her
commanding presence. Ultimately, Oneiris takes music fans to places DJ’s and
rock bands cannot. Each of their performances are individual, establishing a
unique communion with their audience. They can build from the atmospheric to
something orchestral or edgy. They create and perform collectively, bringing
music to people who want something more creative than mainstream culture.
