Band Biography :
With our music we try to contribute to the development of heavy music. Heavy
music has been segmented in many different styles throughout its development.
With Rectify we try to create a ‘new’ style, which contains elements from
existing ones, while trying to expand these with an own and new approach.
There’s more development to come and we try to be part of this development. The
foundation of Rectify’s music lies in Thrash and Speed metal from the 80’s and
90’s. Another creative musical injection was found in the end of the 90’s with a
new style within the hardcore scene. We are trying to take these styles to a new
level of fierceness in both musical structure and performance, as well as in
recording. One could name it ‘hard metal’. Rectify is about aggression. This
aggression does not come forth out of hate; we do not want to create aggressive
feelings towards others. Our love for heavy music comes forth out of a constant
urge for forceful energy, and we want to share this with others. Rectify was
founded in the summer of the year 2000. Since then we have always been a
four-piece. It was not easy to find four people who shared one’s ideas about
this music and would function as a flexible whole, but we succeeded. Our search
for creativity will continue. For four years we have been playing together to
accomplish our first big goal: our debut cd. We hope you will like it. It’s
finished. Now we are out to play, everywhere. Together with Garden of Exile
Records and Tijs Hofman Management / Bookings we are ready for any crazy
