Band Biography :
Royal Gun are a great new band who play a kicking blend of rock, blues, country
and most of all nasty geeetaaar POP. With this band trouser badgering comes as
standard, in a time when most bands nowadays can’t even manage a meagre trouser
weasal! They have some really, really great tunes and know how to sing and
perform them. None of this nanby-panby barely keeping it together stuff here.
This band can definitely be said to be a LIVE band. They have a very organic
approach to their music and it really shows in the melting pot of sounds that
they produce. From out and out rockers like “Come on” and “When your leaving” to
real bluesy tracks like “Meet me in the city”, to great pop ballads like “All I
need to know” to great country standards like “Fool” and hit (like) tunes such
as “Highwire” they have a fantastic repertoire for a band who have yet to
officially release an album. Comparisons are always horrible things and
comparing this band is no exception. They have a mainstream pop guitar feel with
a nasty edge that appears everytime they play live. I’m probably going to get
myself into deep trouble for comparing them to REM, Free, John Lee Hooker, The
Rolling Stones, Oasis, The White Stripes, with the pop sensibilties of The
Killers and the country traditions of Willy Nelson and Hank Williams. Yet this
lot can really play. Go see them live and you will not go home dissapointed.
They will blow you away, not only with their individual musical abilities, but
they have a collective presence that you know means only one thing - PMC - Pure
Musical Class. Their bluesy angle combined with their contemporary pop tunes is
just what the music business is looking for. This lot are the real deal. When
the industry at large hears them, this band will be bigger than the cavity
between Peter Andre’s ears (OK OK even U2 and the Stones combined ain’t as big
as that)! If you go to see them and you’re wearing trousers, prepare to have
them well and truly badgered, you have been warned. I tell you no lies. GIVE
