Band Biography :
The official Simon website. Halifax, Ns. indie rock band, sounds a bit like
David Bowie meets Ween & the Verve. This site is updated regularly. Members
include: Paul Hutt, Iain Jardine and Norm White. Simon Simon formed in the fall
of 1997. Leftover Butterside Down members: Paul Hutt, Iain Jardine, Norm White
and Dave Chisholm formed the band after the end of Butterside Down. Norm White
and Dave Chisholm eventually left to work on seperate projects such as: Defence
Andrew, The Sycamores and Breather and were replaced by bass player, John
Kilawee and guitarist Mark Organ. John Kilowee was eventually replaced by James
Drake. Simon played several shows from November of 1997 until the band broke up
in the the fall of 2000. Simon reformed in the summer of 2004 with the original
bass player Norm White, Paul Hutt, Mark Organ and Iain Jardine. They wanted to
finish recording several songs that they didn’t have a chance to record in 1999
and figured that they might as well play a few shows while they were at it. Mark
Organ left the band in the beginning of 2005 to focus on starting a family and
Simon became a three piece band that hopes to keep playing live and release good
records.
