Band Biography :
Soulfuse was started, under a different name in the early goings, by David Cole
and Jeff McLeod in 2001. Very early on, the two - man band pursued recording a
demo. The drive to “get it done” was extremely important, regardless of the
participants involved in the process. Part of the sacrifice of that very same
drive included turning a wood shop into a studio during the early, early hours
of several mornings. That same drive also pushed the duet to use any avenue
possible, to beg and to borrow - to obtain guitars, drums, congas, and other
instruments. The two had never realized just how involved recording could be.
However, the five song demo was released, and soon after, a full length 15 song
CD was released. The second set of recordings required the same early morning
studio conversions, as well as the same “beg and borrow” policies. It was
evident that, after these releases, it was time for the band to go out and play.
However, there was one drawback to being a two - man band : the band knew that
it would be nearly impossible to pull off a full sounding live set with only two
guys. Enter prayer. They prayed, and then asked around locally to see if there
was anyone willing to fill the much needed guitarist and drummer positions.
Jonathan Daniels, who had known Jeff and David for quite some time, found out
that Soulfuse was looking for a drummer; he had listened to them on a Christian
radio station as they made a plea to the listening audience - for a drummer.
Jonathan made it clear in the initial meetings that he was interested in playing
drums for Soulfuse. God is so good isn’t he? Turns out, Jonathan was our first
choice right from the start, years before - but he had been playing in another
band at the time. Now he was free to play for Soulfuse, and now Soulfuse had
found the next piece of the puzzle. He adds a unique flavor of rythym to
Soulfuse. His drumming skills are far better than he is willing to admit!
Soulfuse will begin recording their next project, which by the band’s estimate,
should be released in March or April of 2005. They are excited, as the new
release will incorporate Daniels’ unique drumming capabilities. So - be on the
lookout for it in March or April! Their live performances include a hefty mix of
originals, peppered with modern praise and worship music. Cutting - edge
Christian rock music is also thrown into the mix. All invitations to churches
are prayerfully considered and coveted! Hopefully we can affect our world for
Christ!
