Band Biography :
What do you get when four life long friends raised on The Beatles, Led Zepplin,
Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, KISS, G ‘n’ R, Alice In Chains and S.T.P. decide to
form a band…..………..For vocalist \ guitarist Eddy Keaney, lead guitarist Randy
Cooke, bassist Steve Ubdegrove and drummer Dean Neron, it has resulted in a kick
ass hard rock act affectionately known as SUM THIN UGLY. For any original band,
individuality lies within a unique mix of musical influence and personality.
With the release of their independent self-titled debut in the spring of 2004,
SUM THIN UGLY have proven just that. From the bluesy, hard rockin’ opening track
“S.T.U.” to the soulful closing ballad “Freedom” the band has shown a musical
diversity that is truly their own. A string of successful live shows at such
Kingston hot spots as The Scherzo Pub, Stages Night Club, The Iron Horse Saloon,
Elixir, Cocamo, Brandee’s and The Merchant McLiam have gained the band a loyal
following in and around their home town. They were fortunate enough to perform
to enthusiastic Saturday night crowds at the prestigious Horseshoe Tavern in
Toronto and Trudeau Park’s famous May 24 bash in Tweed. SUM THIN UGLY have
donated their services to charity events “Jingle Bell Rock” for Pro Kids and
“Kingston United Music Festival” which raised over $5000.00 for the United Way.
They’re professional work ethic and positive attitude has helped them build a
reputation for being a hard rockin’ band that can be counted on to deliver a
high energy live show every time they hit the stage.
