Band Biography :
The Monophonics have been together for a short while, but its members have all
played together for more than a decade. On guitar and background vocals is a
musician who goes simply by the name Jazz, and who, previously, had a recording
deal with Columbia records while with the band Fat Tuesday. The lineup also
includes Ron Petitto on lead vocals, Jamie Linhart on drums, Steve Linhart on
guitar and bass guitar and Jim Holland on guitar and bass guitar. The guitarists
switch off, depending on the song, and all the members contribute background
vocals. They released are currently giggin in support of their 16-song album
“The Unified Theory of Everything”. The Monophonics have a sound that is power
pop with tastes of rockabilly and a little country twang, but the members don’t
concern themselves with a musical description. The band lives by the addage
“Labels are for soup cans”.
