Band Biography :
The Birth of Typecast actually occured 4 years ago at the Kenefick:
Kenehick-Lickastick-BandFest. This is where James and Jesse first met, and they
were each in another band at the time. Jesse, who was from the surrounding area
was co-hosting this ordeal with a former bandmate. The show was a success and
soon everyone went in their own direction. A fellow musician and friend had
invited James and his crew down for the show. Meeting through this shared
friend, Jesse and James decided they wanted to jam together after an
unbelievable weekend of songwriting. For a period of time, it seemed that
holding on to a serious bass player and vocalist would be the stop sign on the
road to fame. At one point they had become pretty steady with some very talented
musicians, got organized, and created the band, Phil-in-the-Blank. This lasted
only a few months until once again, their singer and bassist had turned their
backs on the band. So, without giving up on their dreams, James and Jesse sought
out to find another bassist and vocalist. Well then came in Steven, who at the
time actually played guitar and just so happened to be the sound engineer that
recorded Phil-in-the-Blank. He quickly picked up the bass and has become one of
the most unique and exceptional rock bassists of his time. Steven was more than
willing to become the newest member of this group, and so they came together
very quickly and formed the early Typecast. The name was new on the scene, and
it was another chance to start over and make something great. They found a
vocalist named Kris and moved into a Hard Rock Alternative style of music. With
Kris, Typecast did very well for themselves, selling thousands of copies of
their self-titled full album cd. Then Typecast took a turn. Controversy with
differentiated opinions and struggling through their individual hardships drove
Kris from the band and left a quiet void where everyone found themselves in a
hole w/out Typecast. After the dark days, James had discovered a new talent, a
vocalist named John who brought them in a Metalcore/NuMetal/Experimental
direction. It was now time to get serious one more time. Now that all personal
issues had been dealt with, Typecast has been practicing weekly, having 2 to 3
shows a week. In November of 2004, Typecast’s guitarist James underwent
reconstructive surgery on his leg, and this put Typecast out of commision for
several weeks. Never the less, the band has been doing major promoting. Aquiring
T-shirts, recording and distrubiting demos. The band has been hard at work
getting their name out trying to make use of the much-appreciated time. Typecast
is a band who knows hard work and what it takes to make it in this industry.
They have alot of friends and family who give them support and push them to do
better. Special thanks to everyone who has helped or been there for Typecast
from the beginning. And much love goes out to everyone in “The Crew”.
