Resolute - firm, determined, unwavering, unshakeable belief. A band with a clear message and purpose - captivating the listener through the vehicle of music. Resolute’s songs are written out of life experiences. The heartaches, trials and challenges of living in a world that has lost its moral compass; something everyone can relate to.

Resolute was born in late 2004 from Sudbury based guitar duo Juice & Jesse, (Justin Carrière and Jesse Prud’Homme) who became known in the city after the release of their self-produced instrumental debut album; not bad for a couple of 16 year olds. They took their creative musical arrangements a step further when bass player Shawn Arseneau and drummer Robert Harris came aboard. Resolute evolved into a diverse four piece group who strive to bring forth catchy original material. Having recently completed high school, the band has opened for Sparrow/EMI recording artist Starfield, Juno nominee Janelle, Grammy nominee Janet Paschal and ranked top 5 in the 2005 Kingdom Bound International Talent Search (Canadian Finals).

Previous to forming, each member had experience in Sudbury’s live music community. The last year has been a busy one for the band. They’ve performed at popular local establishments (100 Georges, the Townehouse Tavern) and festivals (Northern Lights Festival Boreal, Summerfest). Resolute has also played at youth rallies, community events and benefit concerts to raise money to help the needy in Third World countries. This earned the band a solid reputation as musicians who are willing to make a difference and reach out to the less fortunate.

The group’s music is a blend of rock and alternative based pop. “I like your mixture of musical styles, your song writing is very interesting.” - Armand Petri, former producer for the Goo Goo Dolls and Sixpence None the Richer. With enough songs to record their first CD, the group has been in the studio working on their first album that is expected to be released this summer.
